Construction on the Nutrien Ag Science Building at Colorado State University is well underway. You can see updates at this website: http://agonthemove.agsci.colostate.edu/.
COVID-19 has caused a pause in the conversation between CSU and the Colorado Horticulture Research and Education Foundation (CHREF), but we will be reinitiating the conversation soon. As the project gets closer to completion (estimated to be Spring 2022), many opportunities will be available for CHREF as well as individual members to sponsor rooms in the building, donate legacy gifts, and support in other ways. If you are interested in individually contributing, please contact the CSU development office at 970-491-0909 or cas_vip@mail.colostate.edu. If you would like to recommend sponsorship ideas to the board, please contact info@coloradonga.org.
It’s also that time of year when the CSU Department of Horticulture will be starting new research projects that will benefit the green industry in Colorado. Historically, the board has not received a great amount of input from individual members. We welcome any and all recommendations for research requests from soil media evaluations to economic and trend studies.
CHREF Golf Tournament Delivers the Money
The 2020 CHREF Golf Tournament was a resounding success. We are thankful to more than two dozen sponsors and 100 golfers whose contributions raised $12,650 for the foundation. This money helps fund scholarships for students at Colorado State University (CSU) and Front Range Community College, as well as funding research at CSU.
If you weren’t able to make it to the tournament, but are interested in donating to CHREF, please contact info@coloradonga.org.
