CHREF Update

We’re right in the thick of the season and although we can get caught up in the day-to-day, it’s never a bad time to be thinking about the future of the industry and the future of your business.

CHREF is committed to driving research and education in Colorado and has brought on a fundraising consultant to assist in navigating current and future opportunities. Additionally, we are working on a website specific to the foundation where traffic from students, donors, and partners can be funneled. We hope to roll the website out in late 2023.

Recently CHREF approved recruiting scholarships for CSU – these are for 1st year students who declare Horticulture or Environmental Horticulture as their major and can be used as a tool by College of Agriculture recruiters to build the pool of students in the programs. CHREF will continue awarding merit-based scholarships to incoming freshman students who declare horticulture as their major.

We still have space at the golf tournament. The CHREF Golf Fundraiser will be held at Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton on Tuesday, September 19th. Registration is open for players and sponsorships. Please visit the CNGA website for more information. Remember – you are welcome to attend and not golf! If you are interested in exploring ways of supporting the foundation, please reach out to Jack Fetig at jack@fossilcreeknursery.com.
